Climate hazards can disrupt the mobility of people and goods, damage transport infrastructure, and undermine the economic and social well-being of countries. Therefore, it is vital to integrate innovative technologies that can enhance the adaptative capacity of transport infrastructure in a cost-effective and eco-friendly manner. This will help improve the resilience of urban and rural transport networks.
This webinar will discuss the importance of tools and technologies to help improve climate resilience in the transport sector. It will present ADB’s sector portfolio and approach and strategies to integrate climate resilience. Invited speakers from private companies will share examples of emerging and innovative solutions for increased sector resilience.
This event is co-organized by ADB and the Government of Japan through the Ministry of Environment (MOEJ) and Ministry of Economy Trade and Industry (METI). The webinar is a joint event under ADB’s Green Roads Webinar Series (ADB, IRF and MetaMeta), and the MOEJ and METI Virtual Brown Bag Series on Tools and Technologies for Climate Change Adaptation and Disaster Risk Management in Asia and the Pacific.
