Scoping Study on Green Roads for Water Opportunities in Sebeya Catchment

The overall objective of this scoping study is to provide an additional support measure to Integrated Water Resources Management and reduce landscape degradation in Sebeya Catchment. The main scope is to assess the contribution of roads to landscape degradation and explore the potential of using the roads as instruments for beneficial water management and climate resilience in Sebeya catchment. One important component of this study is to identify suitable GR4W measures and recommendations for minimizing the negative impacts of roads while at the same time safeguarding the road infrastructure and securing transport as well as to develop a plan for implementing GR4W on a pilot road within the catchment.

This work was done in collaboration with the Rwanda Water Resources Board (RWB) and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
